depends on several factors. the first being, why does he want to sell it and how much cash does he immediately need? there are different ways to structure the purchase of a note, some of which can return him 100 cents on the dollar. if he wants to sell the entire note at once, this will result in the biggest discount he will have to take. so if he has some flexibility and doesn't need to sell the entire note at once right away, he has some options that will be more beneficial to him than selling the entire note at once.
